Review: Archer of Venus (The Planetary Trilogy book one)

"It is 1953, and Jason Archer is an actor struggling his way through Hollywood portraying one rubber-suited monster after another for a string of B pictures. Just once he'd like to play the hero instead of the villain."

So begins the blurb to Archer of Venus, which is brilliantly retro-science fiction by James Palmer in the vein of Edgar Rice Borroughs and his John Carter of Mars. It's tightly written and faster-paced for the modern reader and very enjoyable!

I had a chance to read this story before it was published and I finished it in abut a  day in two chunks, although it is a full-length novel. I wasn't even feeling well and I devoured it. It was a very fun read.
